Meet The Team
Mikayla Derochie, PT, DPT, NCS
Area of Expertise: Neuro rehabilitation
I am a neurologic physical therapist specializing in the rehabilitation of people with various neurologic conditions including but not limited to stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurodegenerative diseases.
I studied at Washington University in Saint Louis where I earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Now, I have been practicing for 2 years in various settings including acute care, inpatient rehab, and outpatient. I completed a year long specialized neurologic residency program at Barrow Neurological Institute where I was mentored by experienced neurologic physical therapists and furthered my education and clinical expertise in the neurologic field.
I am devoted to providing compassionate and individualized care to each of my patients to maximize their function and optimize their quality of life. I am also an active member of the neurology section of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and participate in continuing education opportunities to be able to provide my patients with the most up to date evidence-based interventions.
Outside of clinical practice, I enjoy hiking, paddle boarding, playing volleyball, watersports, and spending time with my partner and 2 cats. I also enjoy volunteering for adaptive sports programs as I am committed to helping those with disabilities participate in the community and be able to do the things they love.
Everyday I am inspired by the patients I work with and am passionate about providing quality care. Mark Twain said it best: “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
